Vote on Games for November 12th, 2006 Monthly Tourny

So it's a simple question.  We will do our best to have the top 3 or more games at the next monthly tournament.

Halo - is practically a given.

We'll see about everything else.

You have 14 days to vote.  Get friends to sign up if you have to, but get people voting for the games you want to see.  October 24th is the poll end date.  After that, we'll work on rules / formatting the final details.

Survey info is still being counted, we'll get those results soon.

Please, don't vote for something you wouldn't want to play in.  Hopefully we'll have a minimum of 10 votes for the top 3 - as any less, would put the need for a tournament for that game into question.

As you said Halo 2 is pretty much a given.

Might even say worthly of a larger time slot or even double tourney. Maybe a team battle out with 2v2 or 4v4? Maybe that same team battle of 2v2v2v2v[etc] style? Maybe 1v1? Maybe 1v1v1v1 Free for all type? Seems like the "battle royal [ffa] would be quite interesting.

But personally I would be a bigger fan of the team runs. Maybe even capture the flag?

Either way, PRACTICE is needed!

I'm getting back into the Street Fighter hype like a dork. I'd like to see that game played so that I can once again sit in awe of those who can destroy me.

As far as Halo goes, I'd be down for swat. The snipers really make this game unfun at times. 2v2 seemed like a good time. If you get more than 2 per team you run into screen size issues. Just my thoughts.

That would be uber-rad to run swat. Show true skill with head shots and etc. I do agree with the 2v2 vs 4v4 with screen size issues. Which could be fixed by using 4 tvs for just one match, but then we take away from play time, which may add down time and lack of more games.

Yeah so it does look like Halo 2 will win this poll, yawn, but the whole swat thing is fun(the shotgun is over-powering)and would be a way to see how good people are if I am available I will so be there! So yeah I would love to Tekken being played there as well(Lee rules)so that I can bust out the old moves again but, yeah hope we can get a big crowd just not too big cause then we would have spacing issues just a good turn out would suffice well gotta jet!

Shotgun is NOT over-powering! If you are playing against someone who doesn't know how to fight against it, well then yes, yes it is. But thats the the person who has/using the shotguns fault though. A well placed snipe will bring him down fast. Just keep your distance and you should be fine to drop the baddy.

I know that you can beat the shotgun i've done it a couple of times! Just saying if you are smarts with the gun you can be like a few of our friends and totally slaughter people and make then cry  ! But yeah can't wait to go and help out and such.

We don't know if we made it up. I'm sure someone, SOMEWHERE, came up with the same idea as well. Either way X A, don't assume dude. Either way, I blame MisterShock for saying it first and not explaining it.

We mean any of them as long as we can get access to the game and th e proper setup like consols and the such we will run the tourney,so pretty much if you have and bring they will come or something t that  effect. Most importantly there has to be enough poeple to make it a tournament can't have like 3 people there and say let's play (though that would make it easier for someone like me who is not as good with some racing games),but yeah thoe are the basics to make a tourney s 8)weet.

Basically what the idea is - we put up a poll for you to vote on. Then you describe how you want that game to be played [what game exactly is also given] in a post below.

Lets say you vote for Halo2. But you don't want a team battle, so you would vote for "Halo2" and your post would consist of, "I would prefer free for all [or 1v1, depending] - Halo2" So this way its really the players are advising us who run the tourney, of how they want it played. Want MLG type rules? Help inform us of them and it will be so [with enough people saying the same]. Want SWAT [Battle rifle and magnum only, no shields, vechs, etc], it will be so. Pretty much that easy.

Did you vote for Mario Kart? Which one do you want to see? Again if you are the only one voting for the game, I wouldn't expect to see it at a tourney. BUT I know you know people, get them talking, get them interested.

Cant wait until the Halo 2 thing! but the idea of swat in a tournament is not a good one.  I dont really wanna go into the details of why its a bad idea but why not just use the rules that MLG lays down for their tournaments?  I think you can get the rules off the website im not sure but I think it should be a 4 v 4 slayer or objective and a FFA.
