Lawton(and surrounding areas) - SSFIV/MVC3/etc. Meetings and casuals

Hello. I recently moved back to the Lawton area from Seattle after finishing school and I am looking to start or join a local fighting game community. I'm a big fighting game fan and have been playing Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition (SSFIV:AE) since Super Street Fighter IV released, but I'm also very interested in getting into MVC3 in preparation for UMVC3 and any fighting game in general, Tekken, Blaz Blue, KOF.

I started in Seattle with a very strong and friendly community and I am looking for a similar scene to grow and get better. I decided to post here first to get a general idea of how many gamers with similar interest are curious in starting meetings/gatherings/casuals or know of an active scene already. I'm willing to drive to surrounding towns like OKC but would not be able to do weekly gatherings, maybe bi-weekly or monthly. Ideally a group in Lawton that can meet once a week would be great.

If you are interested, know anyone who maybe interested, or already are part of an active scene please post. I would also be interested in more information on any groups that are currently active that I may have missed while searching these forums.

There is a gang of us up here in Tulsa that play every wednesday,  but I know that is quite a drive for you.

I do know there is an OKC crew but I am not aware of their meetings. You can add me to live or STEAM

There is a group I heard about at this place called laugh out loud arcade. They play fighting games on Friday. I just can't find the actual group. Only outsiders been telling me about them. Maybe you can go over and see whats going on? I hope you guys in Lawton can grow cuz there is a ton of guys that are down there playing.

I wish I could just use the instant transmission and go there on fridays. Thats when they play but laugh out loud has nothing to do with that group. The group just comes on Fridays to play there. Any recommendations on finding them? Also note: lol arcade is where they had the 200 plug gamers playing black ops. So there is some gamers down there missing events.

Welcome to the site. I might come down there and host an event. Have you ever been to laugh out loud arcade?

Thank you! I have not yet been there, but I know where it is. I didn't know they played fighting games down there. I feel dumb for not checking.

I went to LOL arcade this afternoon and asked the girl at the front desk of a group of guys meet there on a regular basis to play fighting games and she gave me a funny look then refereed me to a Call of Duty tournament that is being held sometime in March. I later called and asked the same question to a guy, after asking the question the remained silent on the phone for a good 2 minutes like I asked him a calculus question on an SAT then said that they don't have an Xbox. So unless they meet there in secret and hide in the shadows where no one who works there can see them or the people who work three are incompetent, then they may not meet there. If anyone knows when they meet and if there is some kind of secret password to get into the group then let us know.

Same problem I run into... sooo I say lets keep an eye out on this.. because last tournament they had, ton of teams showed up.
