Official OKgamers.com Rules - Tekken 6 / Blaz Blue
« on: November 07, 2009, 07:50:08 PM »
Okay - if you've been around long enough, you know the drill.

BB and T6 - we need to make sure we are using the best rules for these games - best = NVGA rules, but those might not be totally complete yet, or we might want to simply verify that they are community approved.  Eitherway - we'll post what we have - you tell us crazy / right / etc.  Post if we need to update, etc.

Once we have this finalized - we put it onto the main site as a printable resource under Media.

BlazBlue
Game Settings: Versus Mode, Round Time 99 Seconds

Non-Majors: 2/3 prelims, 3/5 semifinals, 3/5 finals

Majors: 2/3 prelims, 3/5 semifinals, 4/7 finals

the match

NO PAUSING:
MAKE SURE you set your controllers
before selecting a character!!

Pausing forfeits the ROUND,
Soft-Reset forfeits the MATCH

You are responsible for your own controller and name tag. Any malfunctions or errors that occur are your responsibility, so bring an extra controller if possible and always check to make sure you're using the correct settings BEFORE a match is played.

- The Mages DQ rule: After a match has been called, if a player is two minutes late he will receive a warning. At 4 minutes late, he will be given a loss for the first game of the set. After six minutes, he will be given a loss of the entire set.

BB looks good.  Of course all the disconnecting and pausing portions apply to it too

actually question, since it doesn't say here but some major tournaments like Tekken CRASH allow customized costumes, or to say some people only have customized costumes lol, they should be allowed right?

Well, is it only some, or most?  What says TZ.com, etc?

Assuming it doesn't lag the games, or present an offense, etc - should be fine.  My main concern is just going with the vast majority - if the community hasn't came to a final decision.

Guys - this is not a chat forum thread - so I cleaned it up some.  If you want to texture hack your friends, feel free.

UPDATED - I added the same to both - please make sure the rules are accurate.

SPECIFICALLY - I know last I checked you couldn't pause / change settings till the match started in SF - so - if thats the same for BB, Tekken, etc  - please make sure we know lol so we can update.

IF THESE RULES ARE WRONG - let us know ASAP, SAME WITH DISPUTES.

We'll make any changes to rules at 12/13 - at the event only with 100% agreement of players.  Any rules changed at the event - will be good for 1/23, and on.

...(UH.  ALSO - I heard a new version of BB came out?!@  Where does that leave us standing?!@)

like SF4 both BB and Tekken require you to be in match to change buttons. So button checks before match starts would be logical.

and yes BB Continuum Shift just hit japanese arcades, and most major arcades in the US got it day 1 lol.

there is one in texas that i am going to. hopefully it will be just as awesome... or more... hate the new announcer though.
i also thought you could change buttons in BB from the options menu... yep, just went and did it for both controllers. could still do checks though, i am certain someone will have spaz hands

well EVERY game ever lets you change it in the options menu, but leaving the character select screen for every match is retarded. SO you just go into a match real quick, change buttons, go back to character and start the match.

Yes - I can agree about the delay, stupidity...

...however, much like Smash - settings are settings, and need to be done even if you have to back out.  I MUCH rather make a no tolerance rule about doing it through the menus ahead of time than to allow the loophole of 'oh I just started this match to change my buttons, why did you attack me' - bla hbla hblah balh.

I know it seems a bit out there, but better safe than sorry.  If we see a game start - and then restart - we are always confused.  Better to eliminate it as a chance, and require the menu route - don't you guys agree?
