This was definitely one of the better ran events I've attended. I wish it was up on Smashboards though, I don't recall seeing it there. However, I will definitely try to promote these events from now on. If I lived closer I would probably also bring a setup.

Check it out, I got in 13 spot, not bad for a Samus main, eh? Don't mind it much, but you still got my name misspelled. Might want to change that for future reference.

Well we were all out of town that weekend having a balst but yeah guys i think its about time to drop the dead ps3 and actually start geting setups with the 360 just my opinion,

nah bro, it wasn't the PS3's fault, it was the peoples. PS3 is standard and shall forever be so, until microsoft takes the world over that's how it shall be.

Isn't the consensus to play SFIV on the 360 since the timing is noticeably different than the PS3? I thought many pros prefer the 360 version since it's closer to arcade timing. At least that's what Andre told me.

No need to be upset because you don't have a counter-argument. In fact, at least I have an argument and a source to back me up. Your post is the one that reeks of fanboy-ism.

Keeping it ps3 doesn't hurt.

What hurts is not enough of them. People have them, of course, or they wouldn't have ps3 controllers..?
One additional setup and having the next set of players ready to play as soon as the previous players are finished would let the tournament finish. Maybe it'd even allow for friendlies?

And i'm pretty sure my te stick is purely for ps3.

we keep it ps3 because the dpad on the ps3 controller is superior to the xbox one, and not everyone has the cash for an arcade stick

LOl looks like SF4 didnt do to well. Hey if we start doing on xbox360 like we should of from the beginning i can almost gurantee 2-3 setups from just me and my freidns.

Street Fighter IV had 20 some odd people compared to BlazBlue's and Tekken's 10 or less turnout. It was second only to Brawl.

On the contrary, it did well. This had to have been the best SFIV tournament I've been to since I went to HardXCore Lan's tournament back in July, 2009 at The Biltmore in Oklahoma City.

What difference does it make if it's played on the 360 or PS3? Unless you like playing on the 360's God-awful d-pad, there should be no issue at all. Besides, there are adapters available if that really is the option you want to go for.

Finally, like Saif, I did expect more hardware support for SFIV and I was surprised and scared when no one actually brought anything.

Props to Animefreak for the console. And it was absolutely brilliant that we were able to score that TV. That couldn't have worked in our favor any better, aside from the fact that we had only one setup which caused the pace of the tournament to go slow and to unfortunately go unfinished.

That said, I can safely say that I can guarantee hardware on both the 360 and PS3 if need be. The only issue being the size of my television. It's 42 inches, and I really don't have anything smaller at the moment. But I would gladly lug this thing around Tulsa and run the risk of having it broken or stolen if it meant that we can play on it rather than those cheap 19 inch LCD televisions. I assume that the rest of the SFIV players feel the same way.

Seriously, the December 13th tournament for us SFIV players felt less like a tournament and more like a refugee camp.

But since the size of this television far exceeds the requirements set forth by Saif, the only logical thing to do would be to simply ask Saif for the go-ahead before a specific tournament.

I am interested in going to the SFIV tournament at the Underground Horror fest, but I can't guarantee my presence at the moment due to possible occupational obligations.

Alright time to step in here, The reason why we use the PS3 is because that is the community standard. There is not much more behind it than that. The second something goes wrong all of the xbox fanboys are going to jump on its case and the same would happen if we ran it on 360's and something went wrong all of the PS3 fanboys would go crazy. The controllers for 360 SUCK for fighting games, i refuse to even touch soul calibur on 360 unless i have my joystick with me, i would gladly use a ps3 controller though.

Again it comes down to what everyone else uses. Also for the apparently "cheap" 19 inch monitors I think you have some research to do, because those would be ♥♥♥♥♥ near the best screens to play games on and thats not just the halo side of me talking. there is absolutely 0 lag on those and i personally cant stand playing on a big screen.

sudo apt-get driversthatarentretarded...

TEKKEN VS BB VS SC VS BLAH - Now that we have the results up?  It turns out the story of "same people playing in both" were exaggerated - as I see only a few overlaps.  And that Mike Weng is REALLY good at fighting games lol.  Anyway - it'll still come down to a poll, we'll get it up shortly.

DigitalHypnosis - we don't want 30+ inch tv's - it's just too much of a hassle, space suck usually, and also a LOT of liablity for everyone.

...HOWEVER - Craigslist can get you a 'cheap 19 inch tv' used for 20-60$ - or if you've got more of a budget you can buy a brand new flat panel / whatever for 150 to 250.  In the end - it's a bit of a investment, but I won't hear the complaints when I've bought over 10 TV's to help communities I don't even play in ;)

No need to be upset because you don't have a counter-argument. In fact, at least I have an argument and a source to back me up. Your post is the one that reeks of fanboy-ism.

Uh.  We use the standard for the fighting gamer community.

OKgamers = a resource for all gamers in the OK area.

We aren't trend setters, or rule breakers.  NO GOOD would come from that.  People wouldn't travel to sub-par events, and that wouldn't benefit locals or the community regionally.  We support what the community supports.

If you want to play on 360 - go change the minds at the Street Fighter home base, we'll MORE than happily conform shortly afterwards :)

...until then I would almost like to support 360 as well if we had more hardware show up for it?  But it's not my call - we support the community, and throwing events with random rule /hardware change ups won't do anyone any good other than prove to us the 360 community would / could just fail too :)

WANT TO PROVE YOUR RIGHT?  FINE - show up with more 360's than PS3's at Horrorfest - if more 360 owners SNOWBALL the PS3 community with support - I'll consider the discussion.  But let's be honest - you'll be lucky to marshal 2 setups lol.

(Why can I offer this?  Horrorfest is a open event as far as events/hardware go.  And if the 360 community is REALLY 3+ times larger than the PS3 community, the conversation can be had after Horrorfest PROVES IT.  Put your EFFORT where your TRASH TALK is 360 fans.)

And this thread / Horrorfest's event will serve as the tombstone to this debate - we've done it once and 360's didn't man up any better, so 360 fans, this be your last chance, hope you use it cause we won't care about the complaining later, you'll just get a link back to this lol.
