D&D - Tulsa/Broken Arrow-ish
« on: November 29, 2008, 02:00:50 AM »
Hey guys,

I was wondering if there was a D&D group that met regularly that may lurk these forums. A friend of mine and I are looking to join a group. 3.5 or 4.0 ed would be sweet. He would probably also be willing to co-dm like 80%-20% (you/him respectively) or something like'at. We are tired of our group that flakes, etc. So let me know.

Peace.

Well, that could potentially be 3 of us. We just need another player or two and a dm.

Get on the ball, people.

I'd love to DM. I'm currently in a group and wouldn't be available until a bit after christmas. I also couldn't provide the location.

So, if you want me to DM. It would have to start later in January, and be a night other than Thursday or Saturday nights somewhere other than my house.

I currently play 3.5 rules, and I enjoy mods. Things like stuff you'd see on the forums at www.giantitp.com. I'm also not strictly a D&D aficionado, I like other tabletop games as well. In fact I'd be willing to try just about anything. I've never said "That's too weird" and totally disregarded an entire system. So if you're not ok with that then I'm not the DM for you. I'm also not "hardcore". I don't do pittley stuff like you have to act out opening every little chest or whatnot. (It's a huge waste of time imho) Miniatures are cool or not whatev. I also generally like my stories to have three very important things before I'll stop... A beginning, a middle, AN END! I hate it when you sharkjump your way into never finishing a campaign, bothers me to no end. So, usually when it all starts I'll say that "This campaign will last x number of x hour sessions and I try to stick to some kind of schedule otherwise you lose all track of the real story of the game and you end up fighting endless hordes of monsters into eternity. Finally, and this is the hardest rule, even if what I say is completely against the rules, contradictory or generally considered to be favoritism you'd have to go with it. A short disagreement is ok, but dramatic arguing over how to dot the letter i is not what I consider fun.

Anyhow, provided you can go with that, hit me up sometime.

Here I am on der myspazenhousen.

If you are still looking for a DM let me know.  I am willing to do the job.  The only problem is that I can only play on Thursday nights, the game must be bi-weekly and I don't have anywhere to host the game (unless you want to sit on boxes in my freezing cold garage  ;D). Other than that it's all good.  I would like to try out the new 4e D&D but I'm not tied to that game system. I have run other games before and would be willing to run LOTR (coda system), Palladium (any game), Chaosium's Basic Role-playing system.  I might also be talked into running HARP or something else if anyone has a copy of the rules. I'm free this Thursday, so if you are interested send me an e-mail at kirksmthicus@yahoo.com. If you don't see this post before then, send me one anyway and I'll let you know where things currently stand.

We have a group that games every Sat and Sunday. Sat is one game Sun is another. We do not stick to just one genre however(i.e. 7 Seas, DnD, Marvel, Rifts, Demon Hunter, yada yada yada) We were running DnD 3.5 on Sat night, but as we are running a Saga like campaign for a long time the GM needed a respite, so currently we are running 7 Seas. Sun nights we are running Marvel currently. All of our games are heavy RP based so if you enjoy ceaseless hack-n-slash prob not the right group for you. Anyone that is interested leave me a PM or reply on this post

My friends and I have a small group that gets together once or twice per week and game (usually thursdays and sundays).. Right now it's only 4 or 5 of us. I'm the only one that is not at a level where I could DM a game (I'm still learning how to fill out character sheets lol - but everyone is very helpful and patient with me!).. But everyone else takes turns running different games. We play D&D 3.5 and 4.0, mostly 3.5, sometimes we play AD&D, 2.0, 3.0 or whatever, just for something different to do or for fun or in memory of someone that's passed on.. All the folks in the group have tons of books between them (and often share with eachother).. We also play stuff outside of D&D, like Star Wars, some westerns, Warhammer 40k, Gurps, etc.. Some prefer techy games some prefer fantasy, but we always have fun. They also mix and match games.. For example, one time they did a game that was crossed with DBZ. lol They're all very experienced gamers, but are also level headed, fun and don't take it so serious or personal that it gets creepy. We meet at eachother's houses and the largest group that we had at one time was 15 people, but some of them came from Oklahoma City.. Gaming with us is very fun! So just email me if we sound like folks you'd like to game with. :) We're all pretty chatty and easy to get along with. I do have to say that if you are so into a game that you go mental if your character gets killed off, you will be asked to leave.. We like folks that understand that it's just a game and that it happens to everyone. (it's happened to me before! i got my head blown off by a wookie!)

Oh, and if you needed help or wanted some ideas for a campaign you wanted to do, they would all be happy to help you. Everyone is honestly very nice, we are open to new ideas and helping eachother. And I would like to mention that with us, you can play evil characters, if you are into that. Mine are usually lawful evil, chaotic neutral, neutral evil or chaotic evil.. I have a difficult time grasping the concept of "good" but if you ran a campaign that didn't allow "bad" characters, then that would be okay for me. They've run those in the past, too! lol.. Sometimes we play campaigns where we're the villains, or where we're bad and fighting against worst. lol We also have a fellow that makes custom gaming sheets, because he's an excel whiz.. He puts pictures and all sorts of areas for pretty much everything you can think of. You don't HAVE to use his sheets (whatever you prefer, of course!), but once/if you get used to them, you'll see that they're very convenient! A lot of times they mix classes or play multiple characters, but not always.. Right now, we have a campaign that one of them is running (D&D 3.5) but everyone has characters that are twins or pairs. I have female and male fraternal twin half-elf druids, and they're both hippies/stoners, like cheech and chong, and my companion animals for both of them are camels. lol Another guy has a gnome rogue and a halfling rogue, both named Mr. Smith, that like to disguise themselves as eachother, so while one is stealing things, the other can provide an alibi (idea came from the mice in that movie chicken run).. Another guy has twin drow females- one cleric, one sorcerer.. there's 3 fighters and a barbarian I forgot what their races were, but everyone is playing a "twin" or a "pair".. lol We often do goofy stuff like that!

Just wanted to know is there still any DND games going on out there.

Top Deck, Wizards Asylum, and several other stores locally have been known to have DnD nights - and then of course the private / in home based ones are all around as well.  With this thread bumped, hopefully someone will respond on a private one, but the store based do exist for sure.

As a matter of fact I just posted something along those lines. I am looking to start a group, so if anyone is interested in joining my little group that will play (once I have the people) on Saturdays (possibly Fridays), please let me know. I am also looking for players/GMs. I Admit, I have never DM'd before but I have a string of pre-mades I may be able to chain together for 4.0. If you want to know more I have a group page on Facebook under Tabletop gamers of Tulsa or email me. Thanks
