OKgamers - is a site for gamers in Oklahoma. As a result, we gather together and have meetings to get feedback and input from local gamers and staff as to where we should go with situations, etc. Are you staff? You should try and make it out!
If you are not staff - but curious about what we do? Want to know more about OKgamers? Etc - join us Sunday to learn more!
When - Sunday, October 5th, 2008 - 1pm
Where - we'll meet at Funhouse where the Monthly tournament is happening, then go from there to a resturant to meet. We'll wait 15 MINUTES - so 1:15, and then head out. We'll need to wrap up the meeting by 3:30pm to head back to Funhouse and get things going.
Check with the Funhouse staff to know where we go if you get there late.
Agenda currently: (which will have additions right up till probably.)
Starting:
- Intro's
- A brief history of OKgamers, and what we are currently doing
Efforts outside the site:
- how crazy I am to sign up for 2 monthlies in Tulsa?
- Age policy - should we have a minimum for staff - for legal and other reasons?
- Same thing as for staff - for business owners. Limiting accounts or requirements for status?
- Mayor Kathy Taylor breakfast
- Our future with VC - are we happy? Potential charge in the future.
- The community as a whole - pursuing more city based efforts?
- NVGA - software with potential cost, our parts in SC4 Nationals.
Site related:
- Ranking software - creating a central database display on OKgamers to eliminate the "who's the best" question. Good, bad.
- New resources / threads - pointing to gaming communities / venue locations list / other event websites
- Front page optimization - video to cover more, etc.
- Site content - someone on staff to review, getting a volunteer from VC/1800, etc?
Forum related:
- power changes for forum types. Should there be a business / staff class? Should all Leads have mod powers?
- Modding practices - a review to make sure the general staff approves of recent actions.
- Code of Conduct - reviewing any new rules that should be added.
- Local Players - splitting it up by genres?
(more may come.)
FAIR WARNING - I run this WAY MORE like a business meeting than just a gathering of friends. So, come with your game faces on, we'll be in this to get things done.
Not in the Tulsa area and can't make it? We'll do our best to have it streamed online for out of towners. Check this thread for a link to the broadcast. If we have problems with the resturants wireless, etc, we won't be able to post, but will do our best.
STAFF BRINGING HARDWARE FOR MONTHLY - don't forget you'll need to have your hardware loaded up before the meeting, so you'll have it for right after - when we go from meeting to tournament
