HxC Hard Core LAN Center Oct, Nov, Dec/Jan tournaments
« on: September 24, 2008, 12:38:37 PM »
Ok guys.. do to some of our 3 investors busy schedules & some just want proof that HxC will work and planning of getting a building for a reasonable price Bills yadda yadda yadda. We might not open this fall. I personally refuse to half butt open a game lounge, cafe, center etc.... I want the best for you okgamers. So we are going to continue to host a couple more tournaments. I think we worked out kinks and I've noticed what people like and what they dont. So tell me what you think guys?

October Tournaments-
                                               Prizes                            Entry fee
SSBB 1v1                                  1st $100 2nd $50            $10
SSBB 2v2                                  1st $200 2nd $50            $10 per gamer
Madden 09/NCAA football 09         1st $200                       $20
Halo 3 2v2                                 1st $200 2nd $100          $10 per gamer
Halo 3 FFA                                1st $100                        $10
Halo 3 4v4 TBD
Gears of War                             1st $400 2nd $100           $25 per gamer
SCIV                                        1st $100 2nd $50            $10
Call of Duty 4 (Online)                 1st $400 2nd $100           $20
Guitar Hero 4 TBD

November Would be almost the same except there will be additional games added. Gears of War 2 tournament (A friendly one), NBA LIVE 09 and Halo trilogy tournament. Halo 1, 2, 3!!!! (maybe)

Now December is tricky due to Holidays, Family etc We might wait till January. Now dont worry gamers, we still have our sponsors. They are merely just waiting for us to get a building. Give me some final thoughts.. HxC staff will start scheduling tournament dates and will post no later then 9/26/08. Last note: These tournies will not be on the same day. They will be at two different locations on 2 to 3 different days. It depends on how much equipment we have. Thanks! :D

4v4 Or do people go bigger then that? let me know please. Also lets say we have an 8 team tournament online... some one needs to get a paypal account. I say once I learn rules, dos donts, Ill distribute all the information for cod 4. Would this tournament work if you had a week to play all the teams till the last two standing? I know peoples schedules is different... as long as games are met by deadline we can go through all the rounds. do you understand what I'm trying to describe?

Yeah, Ive played some tournaments like that, or atleast i think i did. Like you have from say Sept 45th to Sept 47th to play the match. If you dont play the match, then a tiebreaker is decided upon. Is that what your talking about?

Correct.. so like if a team is ready to play and anothers not by due date then the team that was prepared wins. I look up Game Battles rules.. is that cool?

Hey here is the GB rules list for the playoffs, so I think you should follow these:

When it comes to most games - I'd check MLG first, because they've got alot of the shooters covered.  If there are no rules by MLG for a game, then go straight to the community that is largest, and go with what tournaments use there.  Gamebattles may be related to MLG - but they've been known to slaughter rules as well; corrected later in the cases I know - but usually going with the games community is the best call.  The NVGA is looking into generating rules for all the games we'd probably deal with as well (generated by the communities they come from) - and once those are together I'll be posting about them on the site.
