National Girl Gamer Forums
« on: August 18, 2008, 03:30:05 PM »
Hello All,

Im about to Open a National girl gamers forum Off of my site.  My wife, a few of her friends. and a ton of my girl gamer friends will be heading it up.  But I wanted to give OkGamers.com girl gamers not sure how many are out there i see a few here and there. But if they would like to help moderate or even provide input/feedback for what type of forums there should be.

This forums will be girl driven, and..  Girl only.  This includes myself, I will not have access to it other than for the initial setup. I Have a girl gamer clan that are friends of mine out in Florida, then my wife her friends, and my stipulation was that we involve any okgamer girls that would like a chance to help run the show.

The site itself averages 12k hits a day now thanks to n4g.com and digg.com , Im not sure if this will take off or not it may be a bust. But the forums will open around the same time I release my Gamer Equality Rights article im working on. In that article it talks about some of the girl gamers have in getting good quality matches just because of there gender, and how hard it is/was to be apart of large male community.  Ive had my wife and several other of my girls gamer friends help me out in writing this article. So I hope its a good one. I should have it posted with in the next week or so.

But those Girl gamers who would like to give input or provide me with some feedback PM me or message here or email me furyswrath@plasmaburn.net    Id really like to see some major Oklahoma involvement with this.

it's really not hard for a girl to be accepted in the gamer community. guys get all cranked up when they hear that there is a girl playing video games somewhere.

I Think it all depends on the type of game too. I do think Halo is one of the worst when it come to guys shunning the girls.

But on a Brighter note, my article did get accepted and approved on N4G.com  which is always a good thing.  But its not doing so well, I think its because school / college started in most places this week.   Here is a link to the article on N4G.com  http://www.n4g.com/industrynews/News-185945.aspx

You could always check out the PMS forums. Sure there are some guys there (H2O), but there are female only teams for some games. ^_^

http://www.pmsclan.com/forum/index.php

I used to be a member of the Doa4 division (ran it actually lol) but with CGS being my sponsor, I'm more of an casual member now. The site has changed a lot since I was last there but I recommend checking it out if you're interested in that.

And slipknot, are you trying to be funny? It says your gender is male so unless you either put the wrong gender down or can't read what it said.... he said girls only.

Not true. Casey and Hayley, Myztique and LovexSpell, have gone to two events this year and after Orlando they were invited to Universal Studios by Carbon and Str8 Rippin. It's not that hard for girls to be accepted.

Events, Yes... Matchmaking... Not even close.  They get trash talked the second someone hears their voice.

True, but they still make up a wide range of gamers online... and if one guy/kid starts in all his friends ect... keep it up till the lady logs out or is booted... I've seen it countless times...
