How do I find a tournament?
Simply check this forum: Tournaments & Events - You can even get an RSS feed on the front page.
I heard about a tournament idea / coming up - but it's not in the 'tournaments' forum?
If the tournament is being planned still, or if you have just heard hype it's probably going to be in the: Tournament Planning & Hype forum.
I didn't find the game *I WANT* to play in the forums, now what?
If your looking for a tournament, keep an eye on the Tournaments & Events forum, and also review the Hype forum. If you'd like to see a game played you may find threads in the Hype forum to request your game.
If you just want to find competition in that game? Review the Local players forums (THERE ARE SEVERAL, please review the groupings). Didn't find a thread with your game? Try SEARCH. Didn't find anything in search? Post a new thread in the appropriate Local Players forum.
How do I post about a tournament?
Go here, register if you haven't, and post a thread with the proper title formatting. Please check out the 'read me first' thread before posting for a few tips on formatting the thread title, and so forth. [Formatting the thread title is important - as it encourages the 'easy at a glance' feel the forums currently have. We wish to maintain clear naming of threads to give easy use of the site.]
How do I find competition/other people that play the game I like?
There is an entire forum divided into 4 sections filled with various types of games. If you don't find your game, even after a forum search, feel free to start a thread. [You will need to register - takes 'bout a minute.]
I posted twice / everywhere - but no one responded yet!!!!
First - please do not 'spam' the forums. If you've posted even once - if it's in the right spot, that's enough, trust us!
No one responded? In ALL REALITY - most gamers in Oklahoma check the site weekly at best. If they are on staff, or new, sometimes daily, but you may not find anyone to respond to you for a week or 2.
WANT RESPONSES? Make sure your TITLE is clear and ABOUT YOUR GAME, your content is understandable and in english, and you've posted your city, and all that is in a nice neat thread in the proper forum!
What if I want to find an old thread / tournament page?
Any tournament or event that has passed has been moved into Tournament & Event Archives. Normal / chat / competition threads go into Thread Archives.
EVERYTHING on the forums can be found through a FORUM SEARCH, please use it :)

Who funds / runs this site?
The site is ran by a volunteer staff of gamers like yourself. Hosting of this website, and any 'funding' we receive is contributed to us by the Friends of Oklahoma Gamers.
Why do you do it?
Gamers volunteer to become staff for various reasons, but the majority got tired of the lack of networking in Oklahoma - so many other states have central sites for information, and we did not. Wanting change we work to improve Oklahoma through OKgamers.com efforts. Find out more in the History of OKgamers.com

What is a 'forum'?
A forum is simply a medium for open discussion or voicing of ideas. In this particular case, the forum is a online piece of software that allows anyone that takes a moment to sign up to voice their opinions, provide information, or ask questions - just like you were sitting in a room with all the participants; without the hassle of actually scheduling that ;)
Why should I sign up / use this forum?
Networking, and information. If this site didn't exist, there would currently be no online venue for the people in Oklahoma to have a place to share gaming related events or tournaments. Here we use technology every day - but we don't network on such a basic level as when an event is? Or let others know via a large spread online venue when your tournament is going to be? Sign up to network, post about events you know about, ask questions, and help spread the word about the site - so we can be more organized, and have alot more fun.
How do I signup?
Simply take a minute to sign up. After you put in some basic information, the website will email you a 'confirmation email' - to prove your email works. Open that email, follow the link it gives you, and your done!
Why does Oklahoma 'need a forum' for gaming?
Well, as I mentioned in 'why you should sign up' - it's all about networking and information. A conversation is only as good as the information you get, and give. Sign up so you can be a member of the conversation about the many gaming events, discussions, or tournament feedback and planning that happens. The forums are where all the information is coming in on new tournaments, and where you'll find all sorts of information about the upcoming tournaments, events, news, and whatever else gets added by others like you.
Who do I talk to if I see a problem / issue?
On the forums every post has a "report to moderator" link please use that. If it's not forum related please use the site's contact form.

How can I promote my [business/site/other here] on OKgamers.com?
If your looking to promote a tournament or event, we highly suggest signing up for the forums and posting it in the Tournaments and Events section. Do you have a company that caters to gamers? Feel free to post in the Chat Forum, as that is our 'catch all' and promotion area.
If your looking for help or to work closely with OKgamers.com, feel free to contact us. Most 'promotion' will be turned towards a Tournament or Event sponsorship, as that is what fuels both interest and business goals.
I want to host or run an event / tournament, can you help?
ABSOLUTELY! OKgamers has dedicated gamers wanting to help you have your next event, tournament, etc! OKgamers volunteer staff can help promote, coordinate, and even run your events! From a local one time tournament to 3 day massive scale conventions and events - we've done it all! Work with us and we'll help your event be a hit!
Just contact us for more info.
Why do you help Businesses run events for free? What's the CATCH?
First - it's a win-win. Second, OKgamers is poor? :)
Win-Win - by you having a successful and fun event, gamers have fun in the Oklahoma area, and gaming in general benefits. Because we know this, we help you have your event be a success with anything we can do to help!
OKgamers is poor? - OKgamers is a grass-roots effort. We make NO PROFIT. As a result? We only get our names out BY HELPING YOU and having events ran well in the Oklahoma area. You want our help? We happily help out to see the gaming community improve. All we ask is free right to post our flyers, etc at small events, and for larger events that have sponsors? We request to be added as an official Sponsor.
OKgamers the grass roots gamers movements helps you have a successful event, and we get the word out we exist - like we said, a Win-Win.
CONTACT US - for our rich history in helping businesses, 3 day conventions, etc. Contact us for more info!
Will you LINK TRADE / Post a link to my site on your front page? (Friends of OKgamers.com)
Simple answer - for the sake of the gaming community, we do not.
Of course, feel free to link to yourself in the chat forum, and in any thread your promoting your events!
Why? We work with multiple gaming groups and organizations to benefit gaming in Oklahoma. We can not afford to 'align' ourselves with one group or another - not if we want to be the BEST resource for gamers in Oklahoma. As a result, we do not post banner ads, etc on the site.
Friends of OKgamers.com? While we will not link to others
for the sake of maintaining neutrality, businesses and venues that have helped OKgamers become the success it is are added to our Friends of Oklahoma Gamers section. However, this is not a "request a link" section, so once again, we apologize, but we do not support that linking.
Linking to us? Feel free!
We encourage you you to link to us if you use our site for promotion regularly!
We also have resources in the Media section and front page that you can link to to help your causes.
